Our current philanthropic endeavors include Green Light: Go! and Get on the Ball! Funds raised from Green Light: Go! support the Zeta Beta Tau Foundation’s Fund for SAFE and Healthy Campuses, which allows our partner JWI to create programs that educate brothers about healthy relationships and bystander intervention.
This program positions our men as leaders in changing the culture in their community. In addition, ZBT is a member of the It's On Us Greek Leadership Council, a coalition of fraternity and sorority groups committed to being part of the solution to end sexual assault.
Get on the Ball was started by Zeta Beta Tau Brothers of Beta Zeta Epsilon Chapter at the University of Maryland - College Park. Designed to create a fun, worthwhile way of raising funds for charity, this event quickly became not only a chapter favorite, but also something that the campus community at the university looked forward to each year.
In its simplest form, Get on the Ball is the process of rolling a ball 6 feet in diameter around campus to collect signatures for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Through the above philanthropic endeavors and our previous trivia contest called ZBT's Most Smartest Greek.
Memphis Gamma Mu Chapter of ZBT has raised thousands of dollars for philanthropic organizations. In addition, we have participated in numerous philanthropic endeavors organized by other Greek organization on campus and Up ‘til Dawn, a campus-wide event that raises money for life-saving research and clinical work at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Members of ZBT at Memphis are expected to participate in community service activities. Each member must log volunteer hours every semester. In the past, we have partnered with the Memphis JCC and Hillel of Memphis on numerous service projects and have been recognized for our significant contributions. Members also participate in volunteer drives organized by other organizations and regularly contribute to Service on Saturdays through the University of Memphis.
The social lives of our ZBT members are lively and full. We host swaps and mixers with sororities on campus and parties with other fraternities. We maintain active relations with all Greek letter organizations on campus including IFC, NPC, NPHC, and multi-cultural Greek organizations.Contact Us
We are leaders on campus and involved in social and career-building organizations. We host ZBTahiti, one of the largest registered parties on campus. In the past, we have hosted parties such as a Saved by the 90s party and annual trips to Pickwick Lake. We are proud to maintain a safe and fun environment for our members and guests.
ZBT at Memphis is dedicated to ensuring our members are ready for the next phase of their lives after college. During college, members have the opportunity to be paired with mentors in their desired fields.
These mentors are available for meeting, discussing CV/resumes, and, generally, for guidance as each member prepares to graduate from Memphis and head into the workforce. In addition, we utilize resources from the national organization, the University of Memphis, and our local Mid-South Area Alumni Association to secure contacts and career development tools for our brothers.
